Rep. Sullivan and Sen. Duffy to host Children’s Fair

State Rep. Ed Sullivan (R-Mundelein) is pleased to announce he will be hosting a Children’s Health and Safety Fair with a “Touch-A-Truck” area from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Aug. 27, at Mundelein High School, 1350 W. Hawley St., Mundelein. State Sen. Dan Duffy (R-Barrington) will be co-hosting the event.

“The school year is approaching fast and it is important that children are reminded how to be safe when traveling to and from school and at their after-school activities,” Sullivan said. “It’s also a good opportunity for parents to get a child ID kit to keep on record and see what activities are available in our area.”

More than 30 groups are participating in Rep. Sullivan and Sen. Duffy’s Children’s Health and Safety Fair with free admission, refreshments and giveaways.

Children will also have an opportunity to touch more than 17 different kinds of trucks including a fire truck (rides available), police squad car, police motorcycle, prisoner transport van, ambulance, farm tractor, dump truck, bomb squad and more.

“As a father of two children, I understand how important it is to get children involved,” Sullivan said. “This is a fun and informative event for the whole family. I hope to see you there.”
