Make a toast during Downtown Elgin Pub Crawl

Submitted by Elgin DNADowntown Elgin Pub Crawl will be from 8 p.m. to midnight Friday, Aug. 12, at Streets Bars of Downtown Elgin. The rain date will be Aug. 13. There is a $10 donation to Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin, which includes an official Euclid Beverage lanyard with bottle opener, a crawl passport/map, and a raffle ticket for a $500 cash prize drawing. Get stamped at five of the eight bars and receive a second raffle ticket. Plus, there will be raffle prizes at each bar; tickets are $1 each.

Event proceeds benefit the Downtown Neighborhood Association of Elgin, a nonprofit organization that works to enhance the economic vitality of downtown Elgin.Presented by Euclid Beverage, the 2011 Downtown Elgin Pub Crawl includes stops at: Afterset, 158 Symphony; Douglas Street Sports Pub, 231 Douglas; Elgin Public House, 219 E. Chicago; Gasthaus, 15 N. Grove Ave.; La Puesta del Sol, 165 E. Highland Ave.; Martini Room, 161 E. Chicago St.; Medusa#146;s, 209 E. Chicago (after 10 p.m.); and Villa Verone, 13 Douglas.

The streets of downtown will be alive with activity, with musicians on street corners to entertain crawlers as they travel from bar to bar. Each bar will offer unique drink specials and other goodies.
