Kane County

• Armand R. Kalnins, 47, of the 49W100 block of Route 64, Maple Park, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and transportation of open alcohol at 4:43 p.m. July 1 after someone reported a suspicious vehicle stopped at Route 64 and Fabris Road near Maple Park, according to a sheriff's report.

• Someone shot a motorcyclist in the stomach with a pink paintball at about 6:40 p.m. Monday while he was riding east on Route 64 near Cibis Road near St. Charles, according to a sheriff's report.

• Michael G. Munguia, 31, of the 400 block of Trask Street, Aurora, was arrested and charged with aggravated DUI, aggravated resisting arrest, and possession of a stolen vehicle at 3:56 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Rural Street near Aurora, according to a sheriff's report. Residents called police after a sport utility vehicle, later to be classified as stolen out of Chicago, was speeding through a trailer park and hit a tree.

Elgin

• A South Elgin taxi driver reported an attempted robbery at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Margaret Place in Elgin, police reports said. After giving two men a ride, one of them told the driver to give him all his money or the other man would shoot him. The driver said he didn't see a gun and took his phone out to call police when the men tried to take it away. The men were unsuccessful in getting the phone, so they ran away without taking anything and without paying the $35 fare.
