Des Plaines

Ÿ Mohanbhai P. Ritteshkumar, 30, of the 7300 block of Lake Street, Morton Grove, was arrested around 1 p.m. June 27 at Citgo minimart, 1733 E. Oakton St., and charged with unlawful sale of alcoholic liquor to a minor after a 20-year-old undercover agent purchased a six-pack of beer during a police department alcohol enforcement check. His court date is July 29. Annamaria Kempler, 40, of the 2200 block of South Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights, was arrested at Joeys Liquors, 1505 E. Oakton St., around 2:15 p.m. June 27 and also charged with unlawful sale of alcoholic liquor to a minor. Her court date is July 25. Both clerks looked at an ID, which correctly stated the agent’s age as 20, but in both cases, the clerk sold the beer anyway, police reports said.

Ÿ Drew Duarte, 46, of the 1300 block of Rand Road, Des Plaines, was arrested around 9:05 p.m. June 27 in an apartment lot on the 300 block of South Lee Street and charged with disorderly conduct after he reportedly struggled with a 43-year-old man during an argument at the apartment complex.

Ÿ Burglars ripped a screen door at a home on the 100 block of East Harvey Avenue between noon June 23 and 4 p.m. June 24 and stole $89 out of a bedroom.

Ÿ Thieves stole a video game unit and game from a boy in a Pokemon event in the second-floor program room at the Des Plaines Library, 1501 Ellinwood St., between 2 and 4 p.m. June 26. Value was estimated at $160.

Ÿ Vandals used white and black paint to spray gang graffiti on two garbage bins in a lot on the 2000 block of South Pine Street June 27 or 28. Damage was estimated at $100.

Mount Prospect

Ÿ Vandals put two long and deep scratches from the rear to the front of the passenger side on a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe in a townhouse lot on the 0-100 block of North Albert Street between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. June 22. Damage was estimated at $350.

Ÿ Vandals put several long scratches on the front bumper of a 2008 Pontiac G6 in an apartment lot on the 400 block of East Prospect Avenue between 5:30 p.m. June 19 and 5:30 p.m. June 20. Damage was estimated at $500.

Ÿ Offenders cut four tires, broke a turn signal lever, and stole both license plates on a 2000 Ford Escort in an apartment lot on the 1400 block of South Busse Road between 7:30 p.m. June 19 and 3:30 p.m. June 20. Loss was estimated at $850.

Ÿ Two men loaded 60 metal display racks/shelves into a rented box truck around 9:30 a.m. June 22; the racks, to be cleaned, were outside the Shell gas station, 927 S. Busse Road. Value was estimated at $2,100.

Palatine

Ÿ Jose Sandiego-Martinez, 23, of the 1700 block of North Rose Avenue, Palatine, was arrested outside his home and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance after an officer conducting another investigation found cocaine in his pocket, police reports said.

Ÿ Burglars stole ID cards out of a wallet in an unlocked 2002 Honda Accord on the 400 block of South Hart Street, between 9 p.m. June 25 and 8 a.m. June 26.

Ÿ Burglars broke into a 2010 Honda Pilot at the Twin Lake Golf Course, 1200 E. Twin Lakes Drive, between 12:40 and 1:40 p.m. June 25 and stole a purse with cellphone, sunglasses and money. Value was estimated at $350.

Ÿ Burglars broke into a 2007 Pontiac Vibe around 3 p.m. June 25 at Grealish Park, 1345 E. Joyce Ave., and stole a purse with cellphone. A witness saw a man standing near the Pontiac. He quickly fled in a dark red or maroon GMC Acadia.

Ÿ Burglars broke into a 2005 Nissan Sentra on the 1200 block of East Baldwin Lane between 1:30 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. June 23 and stole a GPS valued at $150.

Ÿ Burglars stole an oscillating tool valued at $100 and a pair of sunglasses out of a 2008 Chevrolet van on the 1200 block of East Baldwin Lane between 6 p.m. June 24 and 8:49 a.m. June 25.

Ÿ Two men stole three bottles of vodka valued at $195 from Las Adas Liquors, 2001 N. Rand Road, around 9:50 p.m. June 21. One of the men appeared to be the same shoplifter who took one bottle of vodka a few days prior, reports said.
