Citizens for Conservation present awards

At its 40th anniversary annual meeting, Citizens for Conservation presented Mighty Oak awards to a record number of volunteers. The awards were given to 23 non-board members, who volunteered 50 hours or more in the last year.

The backbone of Citizens for Conservation, their work included involvement with all aspects of the complex organization.

Examples include year-round restoration work, writing, speaking, teaching, office work, art and photography, special events, the native plant sale and bird monitoring. Most of the award winners have received this award for a number of years, contributing over 50 hours year after year, but each year new Mighty Oaks join the ranks.

Mighty Oak awards were presented to: Martha Adams, Nancy Bachman, Donna Bolzman, Gene Branson, Doe Crosh, Demmy Giannis, Bonnie Gordon, Katherine Grover, Ryan Guilfoil, Helen Hawthorne, Carol Hogan, Rich Hooven, Annamarie Lukes, Julia Martinez, Jerry Masino, John McCormick, Leslie Pawlikowski, Gail Rudisill, Steve Smith, Gail Vanderpoel, Jeanne Vukovich, Scott Vukovich and Wes Wolf.
