Witnesses told Lake County Sheriff's deputies the man was speeding on Grass Lake Road and after losing control on a curve, he crashed and was sent across the roadway into a ditch.

Police said the man suffered major head injuries and numerous broken bones in the crash, which occurred at about 4:48 p.m. He was being treated at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville Sunday night.

Officials said the man did not have a motorcycle license and was also driving on a suspended driver's license.
