Dist. 59 principal wins major award

Karen Osmanski, principal of Rupley Elementary School in Elk Grove Village, has been recognized with a Distinguished Service Award by the Illinois chapter of the National School Public Relations Association.

The statewide Distinguished Service Award program honors individuals who have consistently gone above and beyond on behalf of their schools, and whose efforts have enhanced education and conveyed its importance to the community at large.

Distinguished Service Award winners are public relations ambassadors who have made a positive impact on communication and education.

Distinguished Service Awards are given in the categories of administrator, board of education member, parent, community member, support staff, and team.

Osmanski has been recognized in the Administrator category for her efforts in reaching out to the community at large to help build understanding and acceptance between all area residents and the school community.

All award recipients will be recognized at INSPRA’s awards luncheon on Friday, May 6, at the Park Ridge Country Club in Park Ridge. Dick Johnson, NBC 5 reporter and anchor, will be master of ceremonies and the awards will be presented by INSPRA President Bridget McGuiggan.
