For Grayslake Dist. 127: Cokefair, Dingman, Merge, Brown

Daily Herald Editorial Board

Grayslake High School District 127 voters have five strong candidates to pick from in the April 5 election. Incumbents Jon Cokefair, Ann Dingman and Douglas Nerge are running for the four four-year seats. Cokefair, Dingman and Nerge have seen nice improvements in the district including language lab upgrades, artificial turf and AP courses additions. All members encourage parental feedback, have improved board transparency and keep a tight lid on spending. Newcomers Ed Brown and Ken Witkowski both are qualified candidates. Brown will look for the best way to fund successful programs, watch out for unnecessary spending and encourage more openness on the board. Witkowski is confident he can do more with less and do better with less. He will isolate waste and encourages excellence in math and science. With an impressive background of civic involvement and 15 years of board experience with two local organizations, the Daily Herald favors Brown, and we like his fit with the experience of incumbents Cokefair, Dingman and Nerge. They are endorsed.
