Local Relay For Life needs volunteers

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life brings communities to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to cancer and to fight back against cancer.

Friends, relatives and coworkers team up to raise funds for prevention programs, services to cancer patients and research for all types of cancer. Ninety-four cents out of each dollar goes toward creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays. The community festival setting features inspirational speakers and moving ceremonies along with live music, entertainment, food and activities.

All cancer survivors are the guests of honor. You will be presented with a T-shirt, lead the survivor lap, and then honored at a reception dinner.

The American Cancer Society is a volunteer organization, so we are looking for anyone with any amount of time to help plan a successful event. Relay For Life of Roselle, Bloomingdale, Itasca and Medinah will take place June 17-18 at Lake Park High School, West Campus in Roselle.

There is a way to help to fit any schedule and interest. Relay For Life is a wonderful Community Service project. Relay For Life fosters a team spirit amongst surviviors, caregivers, friends and family all working toward a common goal to take up the fight against cancer.
