Elgin

• A house was burglarized sometime on Jan. 1 on the 800 block of Hiawatha. Police said the house had been ransacked: a broken rear glass door, holes in drywall in several rooms, displaced furniture, broken wooden spindles on the staircase, three broken wooden tables and a chair, a shattered glass table top, and kitchen cabinet doors that were removed from hinges, according to a report. The house is listed for sale. The homeowner said he was last there on Dec. 26.

• The Larkin Floral & Gifts shop, 230 N. McLean Blvd., was burglarized sometime between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, reports said. Nothing was missing, but it’s believed it was the second time the shop was burglarized in two weeks. Two windows were broken.

• Steven J. Cook, of the 100 block of Guth Street in East Dundee was arrested on an unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia charge at 12:54 a.m. Thursday on the 1600 block of Mark Avenue, a report said. Police discovered a cannabis pipe in his vehicle after making a traffic stop, reports said. Cook is due in court Feb. 17.

• One or two cartons of cigarettes were taken at 3 p.m. Dec. 30 from the BP gas station, 470 Dundee Ave., reports said. Each carton is valued at $50.

• Charles L. Montana, 51, of the 500 block of Chicago Street, was arrested on a public indecency charge at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, a police report said. He is accused of exposing himself outside a neighbor’s apartment door. His bail was set at $3,000 and he is due in court Jan. 10.

Fox River Grove

• Police are asking the public to help them find two people accused of stealing more than $300 worth of merchandise last week from Dominick’s in the 800 block of Northwest Highway. Police say that at 4 p.m. Dec. 30, a white man and a white woman went into the store, stole the items and left without paying for them. The woman is between 80 and 100 pounds, in her late teens or early 20s, between 5 feet and 5 feet, 4 inches tall. The man is between 160 and 185 pounds, in his late teens or early 20s and between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall.
