Mt. Prospect seeks mentors

The Mount Prospect Human Services Department is asking for volunteers willing to mentor children in River Trails Elementary District 26 and Elk Grove Township Elementary District 59.

The program, in its 16th year, pairs volunteers with children in a school-based one-on-one relationship. Meetings are held in a group setting, and participants have a lot of fun, while enhancing social skills. Volunteers meet one night per week at a local school.

A minimum 10-week commitment is required. The next orientation will be held 7-9 p.m. Aug. 19 at Village Hall, 50 S. Emerson St., Mount Prospect. RSVP's are requested; call Kim Sheagren at (847) 870-5680 to RSVP or for information.
