Woodridge man charged with child pornography

A 32-year-old Woodridge man has been charged with possession of child pornography after a 5-month investigation by the Illinois Attorney General's office.

Kenneth A. Garcia is being held at the DuPage County jail in Wheaton in lieu of a $75,000 bond following his arrest Tuesday.

According to a news release from the attorney general's office, Garcia was offering child pornography for distribution. An investigation was launched by the attorney general's High Tech Crimes Bureau and assisted by Glendale Heights and Woodridge police.

A search of Garcia's home on the 7300 block of Woodward Avenue turned up two laptop computers and two external hard drives that apparently contained images and movies featuring child pornography, the release states.

If released from jail, Garcia is ordered to not have any contact with anyone under the age of 18 and cannot access the Internet except for work purposes. Garcia is scheduled to be arraigned June 7.
