Geneva fashion show:The Mother's Club of Geneva is having its annual spring luncheon and fashion show from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Riverside Receptions in Geneva. The library is at 127 James St.Casino trips from Elburn:The Elburn Seniors Club is sponsoring a trip to Wild Rose Casino in Clinton, Iowa, May 4. Cost is $30 and includes transportation and lunch. The bus leaves Elburn Jewel-Osco at 8 a.m. and returns about 6 p.m. For reservations, call (630) 879-7898.Garage sale fundraiser:The Laughead Family in North Aurora is hosting its 5th Annual Emily's Hope Garage Sale Fundraiser 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and April 22 to 24. Emily Laughead was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in February 2003 when she was 41/2 years old, and the garage sale is an effort to raise awareness and money for a cure. More than 30 families have donated thousands of items for the sale at 604 Wingfoot Drive, North Aurora. All profits will be divided between The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Emily's Medical Fund. This year's auction has a theme of "Night of Knights" and celebrates the gifted preschool and grade school's 10th anniversary. Local businesses are invited to donate items, sponsor the event and advertise in the auction catalog. Contributors also will be recognized on the auction blog. The event features raffles and both live and silent auctions. Raffle items include a 52-inch flat screen television and an iMac computer.
