    A woman convicted in September of stealing from a member of the Cuneo family in Vernon Hills was sentenced in Lake County court Monday to 24 months probation and 18 months periodic imprisonment. Beverly Benson, 58, formerly of Grayslake, was allowed by Lake County Judge Daniel Shanes to spend the 18-month sentence on electronic home monitoring rather than periodic imprisonment, as long as she returns to Lake County jail once per week to check in.

  • Judge denies lower bail for Ingleside man who may lose tongue Dec 3, 2014 5:05 PM
    A Lake County judge denied a motion Wednesday to lower bail for an Ingleside teen accused of leading police on a wild chase in mid-November while high and drunk. Judge Christen Bishop refused to reduce Ronald Maas’ $2 million bail, but said more medical procedures for could be ordered as needed to keep Maas healthy while he awaits trial.
