    St. Charles man charged with possession of child porn Jan 20, 2013 12:00 AM
    A St. Charles Township man faces a felony possession of child pornography charge after authorities found unlawful images on his computer, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s office. Refugio M. Padilla Jr., 34, of the 7N200 block of Barb Hill Drive, appeared in court Friday, when a judge set his bond at $70,000.

    Five people were charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, at a restaurant in the 400 block of North Randall Road, Batavia, at 8:59 p.m. Saturday. Police said the alcohol was added by those charged after they were served beverages.

Krahn, who worked at the store, is accused of taking a half-pound of raw shrimp and a package of hair dye.

  • Naperville, St. Charles pharmacies hit by dial-a-drug robber Nov 30, 2012 12:00 AM
    Walgreens pharmacy workers in Naperville and St. Charles were robbed by telephone this week in two "strange" but apparently related cases, police said Friday. In both instances, victims received calls indicating they were being watched and would be harmed if they didn't turn over drugs. The employees then handed out bags of prescription pills through drive-up windows.

    If you live in the third or 16th precinct in St. Charles Township, then your regular polling place is closed and you'll need to vote in one of two separate places. Voters living in the third precinct need to cast their ballot at the AMLI apartments at 100 Lakeside Drive. Those in the 16th precinct should go to Charlestowne Mall by the main carousel entrance at 3800 E. Main St.

    Casimer P. Ratay, 56, of Campton Hills, was charged with retail theft at 5:04 p.m. Saturday at Menards, 300 N. Randall Road, Batavia, according to a police report. Police say he is accused of stealing a 9-volt battery, a USB memory stick, a Black and Decker five-piece screw extractor and a tire-pressure gauge.
