A veteran commissioner and a newcomer with extensive youth sports experience appear to have won six-year terms on the Palatine Park District board. With all 53 precincts reporting, unofficial totals show Sue Gould, the lone incumbent, as the top vote-getter with 2,257 votes. Terry Ruff received 1,960 votes to win the second open seat, narrowly edging Doug Myslinski with 1,898 votes.

14.24- with one photo On Tuesday, April 2, four area choirs will come together to participate in the third annual One Voice Festival. Palatine Children's Choir, in an effort to extend the festival experience to singers on a local level, created the event in 2011. The event fills the void for singers who may be too young or unable to attend expensive festival trips. The One Voice Festival experience is offered free to area youth choirs. This year, four choirs will be attending the festival, including the Treble and Intermezzo choirs from Palatine Children's Chorus along with guest choirs from Sundling Junior High in Palatine, Hoover Math & Science Academy in Schaumburg, and St. Peter Lutheran School in Arlington Heights.
