    The McHenry County Department of Health will offer prostate cancer screenings at no cost in February. The Prostate Specific Antigen blood test is being offered to men 50 years of age and older. No fasting is required.

    Online registration is now open for the spring 2015 season with Wasco Baseball. They provide a positive, structured, educational baseball experience, rich with sportsmanship and healthy recreational competition for approximately 2,200 boys and girls, age 5 to 17, during two seasons per year (spring/summer and fall). The league has no residency requirements so players are welcome regardless of where you live.

    This past November, PADS kicked off its year-end giving campaign, “Give the Gift of Shelter,” with the goal of raising $80,000 for the program — which costs over $700,000 to operate annually. Thanks to the generosity of our community, PADS is 90 percent of the way to meeting this goal. “We have until the end of January to meet our goal before the campaign ends,” said Christin Kruse, Chief Development Officer. “And we believe we can do it with your help.
