    Small solar panels are being installed at Hawthorn District 73 schools through a grant program to teach students about renewable energy. "When they hear about it (solar energy) on the news, it's nice for the kids to have some background what it actually means," said Lisa Cerauli, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction at the Vernon Hills-based district.
