The man involved in a shootout with police aboard a Metra train in Deerfield Friday night killed himself, according to autopsy results released Tuesday.

Held at the College of Lake County, the event drew students interested in pursuing engineering careers from more than 13 colleges including the University of Illinois-Champaign, Iowa State University, Purdue University and the College of Lake County.

Details remain murky regarding the pursuit of a Gurnee man shot to death by police Friday night on a Metra train headed to Fox Lake, in part because the investigation into the slaying for which 32-year-old Jamal Parks was a suspect is ongoing.
