Enjoy golf at any age with Schaumburg Park District

Golf is fun at any age with clinics and leagues at Schaumburg Golf Club and Walnut Greens.

Junior Golf Program classes are available for children and teens ages 5 to 17 to teach the fundamentals of the golf swing, including proper grip, body alignment and posture. Administered by Schaumburg Golf Academy, Junior Golf begins in June at Schaumburg Golf Club, 401 N. Roselle Road.

Junior Leagues for ages 8 to 17 begin April 19 at Walnut Greens, 1150 N. Walnut Lane, with another session starting in June. Schaumburg Golf Club also is hosting a PGA Junior Golf League for children ages 13 and younger, with an emphasis on fun, recreation and sportsmanship.

"The earlier you begin playing, the easier the game is to learn," said Jonathan Parsons, general manager of golf operations. "Golf is a game that can be played your entire life and is a great family activity."

But golf isn't just for youngsters-several adult programs also are available this spring and summer, including:

• Co-Rec Weeknight Adult Golf Clinics

• Co-Rec Weekend Adult Group Instruction

• Adult Leagues

• FootGolf League

• Women's Golf Clinics
