Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce Spearheads 'Think Local First' Campaign

The Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce (PACC) is spearheading the 'Think Local First' campaign. Open to all Palatine businesses, the campaign was created to generate awareness about the importance of patronizing area businesses, and educating residents and business owners about the importance of keeping sales tax dollars in the local community.

"Residents are encouraged to shop and think local, and business owners are encouraged to reinforce this message," said Shawn Jackson, president of PACC. "Keeping our dollars here in the Palatine area not only helps our business owners to thrive and survive, it also ensures our hard-earned tax dollars stay here to support our local community and all it has to offer."

The rollout meeting for the Think Local First campaign will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at Palatine Village Hall, 200 E. Wood Street in Palatine, with a morning and evening session available to area business representatives.

The morning session will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and the evening session will be from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Information presented at both sessions will be identical. Attendees will receive window decals and marketing materials to support the campaign.

This meeting is open to all Palatine business owners and representatives, including both sales, services and retail businesses. Business community members who attend and are interested in participating in the campaign will have the opportunity to be involved in future local shopping promotions, including cross promotions with other businesses and partnership opportunities.
