Hawthorn District 73 Announces Kindergarten Registration Dates for 2018-2019

Hawthorn School District 73 will hold its kindergarten registration for the 2018-2019 school year on Thursday, February 22, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Friday, February 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration will take place at Hawthorn Middle School South, 600 N. Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills. Children who turn 5 on or before September 1 are eligible for kindergarten.

To register an incoming kindergarten student, parents or guardians must attend one of the dates to begin the registration process. They must provide the following:

• Original certified birth certificate (hospital or baptismal certificates cannot be accepted)

• Residency verification documents (including photo identification and two proofs of occupancy for an in-district residence)

• Completed pre-registration student information sheet (if it was not turned in at the Parent Meeting)

• Completed School of Dual Language interest form (if applicable)

Also, parents are welcome to submit any legal documentation regarding child custody, orders of protection or other court-ordered matters.
