The Holmstad to host ninth annual Christmas Open House Dec. 16

Ring in the holidays with family, friends and a magical meet-and-greet with Mr. and Mrs. Claus and Elsa from "Frozen" during The Holmstad's ninth annual Christmas Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia. The event is free and open to the public.

The 38-acre senior living community is decked out for a whimsical and fun holiday celebration for all ages to enjoy.

Visitors can climb aboard a trolley for a ride through the holiday-trimmed campus and view colorful, life-sized holiday displays created in the community's woodshop by a group of Holmstad residents.

Guests will enjoy a nativity scene with Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, three wise men, an angel and livestock.

Other holiday scenes include Santa in his sleigh, reindeer and Dickens-themed carolers. The displays provide festive Christmas photo opportunities for families and friends.

There will be live reindeer and face painting for the kids, live holiday music and carolers strolling throughout the community. Delicious snacks and desserts also will be available.
