Dive in for the perfect pumpkin at the Schaumburg Park District

Swim with the pumpkins at the annual Pumpkin Splash, presented by Schaumburg Bank & Trust, a Wintrust Community Bank.

The event, featuring pumpkin picking in the zero depth pool, takes place 6-8 p.m., Oct. 20, at The Water Works, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Additional activities include pumpkin decorating, open swim and a DJ. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

"It's great to offer families this unique twist on pumpkin picking," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Neighborhood Center manager and general program supervisor. "The children really love to splash around in the water and search for the perfect pumpkin to decorate."

Pumpkin swims are scheduled per age group throughout the evening. All other Water Works pools will have open swim. All children ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by an adult throughout the entire event.

The hunt schedule includes:

• 6:15 p.m. (2 and younger)

• 6:30 p.m. (3-5 years)

• 6:45 p.m. (6-8 years)

• 7 p.m. (9-12 years)

Cost is $14 for residents and $18 for non-residents. Registration deadline is October 19.
