Fox Meadow Elementary holds annual McTeacher's Night at South Elgin McDonald's

Fox Meadow Elementary School held its third annual McTeacher's Night on Thursday, Sept. 28, at the South Elgin McDonald's on Redington Road.

A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers and staff work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales back to the local school.

On Sept. 28, the restaurant was taken over by teachers and staff members from the Elgin Area School District U-46 elementary school excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Fox Meadow PTO.

There were 12 teachers/staff from the South Elgin school who worked. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, making ice cream cones, and dressing up in an apple pie costume to sell fresh hot apple pies for donations.

Special thank you goes to John Ceasario and Lisa Mertinat, who volunteered to dress up as an apple pie while families donated funds to receive their own delicious pie! Thank you to PTO representative April Wedne who organized the event. Fox Meadow Elementary School teachers and staff worked hard and with excitement, while the families enjoyed a spectacular evening.

Fox Meadow Elementary School plan to use the $879.72 raised towards events and a playground upgrade they are hoping for in the near future.
