Glenview Cable Channel to Air I'm From Division Street program

The Village of Glenview will air the North Shore Senior Center's Men's Club program featuring Author/Attorney/Boxer Kenneth N. Green speaking about his book, I'm From Division Street, at the North Shore Senior Center. The program will air on Comcast or WOW cable channel 17 or 6 (depending on your neighborhood) and AT&T U-verse channel 99 PEG.The program will air on Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. and through Sept. 12. at 9am, 1pm, and 7pm until next Tuesday evening. More than 150 people attended the program. His book tells his comeback story growing up in Chicago's Humboldt Park where he faced poverty and academic problems. He was kicked out of Roosevelt High School, but was eventually allowed to return. He graduated after four and a half years and was 186 out of 187 students. He never read a book to completion until college.

Author/Attorney/Boxer Kenneth N. Green, who wrote the book I'm From Division Street, is a Defense Attorney and retired Bureau Chief of Central Operations in the Los Angeles County Public Defenders Office. Prior to that, he was Bureau Chief of Branch and Area Courts (42 courts) and supervised over 400 lawyers. Ken is also a boxer inducted into the California Boxing Hall of Fame, and serves as legal counsel. He is also a former Adjunct Professor at UCLA. He was a single parent raising a son. Ken became a reserve police officer at the age of 68. He was then hired as an instructor at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy. He also served in the U.S. Army. On February 5, 1957, he volunteered for the draft at 18 years old. While serving in Korea, he encountered anti-Semitism, including a fight for his life. He is also listed in 'Who's Who In America."
