St. Isidore 3-on-3 basketball tourney tips off Aug. 26

The St. Isidore Catholic Grade School and Parish parking lot and grounds once again will be transformed into "everything basketball" on Saturday, Aug. 26, when the 18th annual Cyclones 3-on-3 basketball fundraiser tournament tips off.

More than 50 teams of up to 200 players are expected to participate on 12 portable courts this year. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 a.m.

The tournament is open to any students in third through 10th grade for the coming school year. Teams can have up to four players. The entry fee of $100 per team must be submitted by 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, at the school office, 431 W. Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale. Cash or checks are acceptable, with checks made payable to St. Isidore School.

Last year's event raised more than $7,000 in support of St. Isidore School.

"The 3-on-3 tournament continues to be one of the most highly anticipated events and fundraisers of our school year," parent Chairman Jason Ciolino said. "This is our 18th consecutive tournament, and to see our school and parish grounds filled with hundreds of players, spectators, food, music and fun is really something."

Each team will be grouped by age and experience into separate divisions. The tournament committee recommends that a team's roster consist of players of the same age or grade in school, and players must be of the same gender.

All teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games, and will receive a free lunch from Rocco Vino's and commemorative T-shirt. Medals will be awarded to each division-winning team.

Tournament rules and sponsorship forms are listed along with team entry forms on the school website, stisidoreparishschool.org.
