Lake Zurich Rotary Helps Local Kids Read (and you can, too)

"The kids and families really appreciate getting the books and school supplies," says Joe Kulba, president of the Rotary Club and current leader of the book giveaway. "If they can't afford to buy food, they won't be able to buy books for their homes," Research shows that families who provide books for their children find that they soon read at grade level or above.

Cookbooks and dictionaries are also popular at the giveaway, notes Nancy Shepherdson, member of the Lake Zurich Rotary, who started the program.

You probably have books that you no longer want. If you have unwanted kids' books, dictionaries or cookbooks, you can donate them to the book giveaway. Just send and email to lzrotary@gmail.com and we will arrange to come pick them up from you.
