Woodland Primary School Hosts End of Year Celebrations

Gurnee--Woodland Primary School will host End of the Year Celebrations May 31 and June 1.

The EC (Early Childhood), Structured EC, and WELE (Woodland Early Learning Experience) students will partake in an end of year event at 11:10 a.m. and 1:25 p.m. on May 31 at the school, 17366 West Gages Lake Road.

This exciting end of year celebration will focus on dance and movement, impulse control, and following directions. Students will also review the meaning of our school-wide expectations: R.O.A.R. (Be Respectful, Take Ownership, Be Accepting, Be Ready).

The Kindergarten, Structured Kindergarten, Instructional Kindergarten, and Dual Language students will partake in their end of year celebration at 10:20 a.m. on June 1 at the school, 17366 West Gages Lake Road.

Students will celebrate their success as they prepare to transition to First Grade with a parade throughout the school. Students will march with banners, signs, and/or noise makers during the parade to demonstrate their enthusiasm and love of learning during their time in kindergarten.

Action Sports Team will also be providing entertainment to Kindergarten, Structured Kindergarten, Instructional Kindergarten, and Dual language students through a wide variety of extreme BMX stunts. Their message to students will be focused on anti-bullying and summer safety. Our goal is that all students leave for the summer feeling prepared and knowing what safety in their home setting might look like.

This presentation is partially funded by the Woodland School District 50 Parent Teacher Association and the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) Fund.
