Driver dies after crashing from tollway into Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel parking lot

A Hoffman Estates man was killed early Sunday morning when his vehicle hit a guard rail on westbound I-90 near Meacham Road and crashed through the parking lot fence of the Schaumburg Renaissance Hotel, causing him to be ejected on the other side.

Hayden Jurillo-Vergara, 39, died at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights after succumbing to his life-threatening injuries, officials said.

Illinois State Police are investigating the one-vehicle crash, which occurred at approximately 12:58 a.m. Authorities say Jurillo-Vergara lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason while driving in the left lane of the tollway and struck the guard rail on the right shoulder.
