One injured in garage fire near West Chicago

One person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after an attached garage caught fire Monday afternoon near West Chicago.

The Bartlett Fire Protection District received the call to the 200 block of Augusta Drive at 3:26 p.m., and were on the scene just over three minutes later. The fire, fought by 53 firefighters from nine departments, was declared under control at 4:06 p.m.

The heavily damaged house was uninhabitable after the fire. An investigation has not yet determined a cause or estimated the monetary damage.

Four other fire departments assisted with station coverage during the fire, while the DuPage County Sheriff's Office provided traffic and crowd control.
