Derby-themed fundraiser Saturday to help Barrington 220 students

Barrington Children's Charities will host a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser Saturday, May 5. Priced at $150 per ticket, The Derby party will be from 3 to 7 p.m. at Rolling Oaks Farm, 160 Dundee Road in Barrington Hills.

Board members Jodie Barbera and Sara Werner are co-chairing the event where guests can participate in best-dressed and best-hat awards. Guests are asked to wear shoes appropriate for a barn atmosphere. The event also will include food, open bar, the Kentucky Derby broadcast, live music by Sons of Bildoor and a 50/50 raffle.

Barrington Children's Charities developed, and is fully funding, a program at all eight elementary schools in Barrington Area Unit District 220 for students on the federal free and reduced-price meal programs. Children in need receive a backpack full of food for 38 weekends during the school year. For event tickets, visit barringtonchildrenscharities.com.
