Spring Grove burglary suspect arrested

A Spring Grove man wanted in connection with a suburban burglary has been arrested, authorities announced Friday.

Devyn D. Cedzidlo, 19, of the 9700 block of Bonner Lane, was arrested Thursday at his house by the Lake County sheriff's warrants team, U.S. marshals and Spring Grove police.

Cedzidlo was wanted on a felony warrant for residential burglary stemming from a crime in Round Lake Beach, sheriff's police said in a news release. He also was wanted for failing to appear in court on an unrelated matter, police said.

Police began efforts to apprehend him in June, but he fled the area. They received a tip this week that he had returned to his house.

Cedzidlo locked himself in a basement storage closet after police arrived at his house to arrest him Thursday, authorities said, but it didn't stop officers from taking him into custody.

Cedzidlo is held at the Lake County jail on $250,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 11.
