Van driver cited in Palatine ambulance crash:

A Schaumburg man has been ticketed for causing a crash with a Palatine Fire Department ambulance last week, authorities said. Police said the 44-year-old man was cited for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and no valid insurance. The ambulance was responding to a call about 2 p.m. June 22 when it crashed into a van driven by the Schaumburg man and rolled over. The wreck occurred at the intersection of Palatine and Rohlwing roads. The ambulance was traveling west on Palatine when it collided with the white van traveling north on Rohlwing. Two paramedics and the van driver were taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
