Two rollovers in Bartlett lead to DUI charges

Two rollover crashes in Bartlett over Memorial Day weekend resulted in driving under the influence charges, police said Tuesday.

Kyle W. Sullivan, 27, of the 3500 block of Deville Lane in St. Charles, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and cited for improper lane use, after a crash Friday night on Stearns Road.

Bartlett police said Sullivan was driving a 2007 Toyota Matrix west on Stearns at about 8 p.m. Friday, when the vehicle struck the raised center median and then the raised curb on the north side of the road. The impact caused the vehicle to roll over in a small ditch, police said.

Sullivan was released on a $3,000 bail and assigned a June 27 court date at the DuPage County Courthouse in Wheaton.

Elena Torres-Guzman, 25, of the 500 block of Berkley Place, Elgin, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or other drugs or intoxicating compounds, as well as for driving with a suspended license, after a crash on Route 59 Sunday morning. Police also cited her for improper lane use and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.

Police say Torres-Guzman was driving a 2005 Mazda Tribute north on Route 59 at about 7:15 a.m. when her vehicle rear-ended a 1998 Honda Accord. The impact of the crash caused her vehicle to roll over on its side, according to police.

Torres-Guzman was released on a $3,000 bail and assigned a July 10 court date at the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
