Feeling hungry? With more than 90 restaurants participating, North Shore Restaurant Month, which runs through Feb. 28, should fit the bill. Participating restaurants include Tuscany, Purple Sprout, Saranello's, D'Agostino's, Bob Chinn's Crab House, Allgauer's on the Riverfront, Johnny's Kitchen & Tap, Oceanique, Tap House Grill, Morton's The Steakhouse and many more. Some restaurants have special prix fixe meals, while others are offering free desserts with an entree purchase, BOGO deals, a percentage off the check and more. New tastes

If you haven't been to Yard House recently, there are 11 new reasons to go. Try one of six new dishes, including Abuela's Chicken, pork belly banh mi, braised short rib ravioli, filet and white cheddar melt, tropical chicken taco and the jumbo Bavarian pretzel. And wash dinner down with one of five new cocktails, such as the Magic Margarita (Don Julio blanco tequila and color-changing citrus agave), Aviation Gin and Tonic, Grand Patrón Margarita, Rosé Refresher (Ketel One grapefruit rosé, Cointreau, citrus agave and Angry Orchard rosé cider) or the Southside Sour (Aviation American Gin, citrus agave and fresh mint).

Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Lincolnshire has added some new bites to warm you up during the winter. Nosh on hearty dishes such as the smoked duck breast crostinis, beet poke with avocado wasabi, colossal lobster tail (14-ounce North Atlantic tail with steamed mussels and clams and roasted potatoes), wagyu filet (6-ounce filet with black truffle butter and lobster Brie mashed potatoes) and the Provencale crusted rack of lamb (with roasted beets, lentil and bulgur pilaf and a red wine and thyme reduction).

Old Town Pour House is now offering an even happier Happy Hour from 3 to 6 p.m. weekdays featuring half-price apps. Choose from the new Kung Pao Cauliflower (sweet peppers, green onions, garlic, ginger, arbol chiles, fried peanuts, chili oil, and sweet and spicy tamari), cheese curds, popcorn chicken (Nashville hot or Southern fried), mushroom flatbread, smoked chicken wings, baked mac n cheese (with grilled chicken and bacon), duck nachos and more. Or try a new entree like the red grouper with rosemary garlic cannellini bean puree, grilled caulilini, oven-roasted tomatoes and English pea coulis or tacos including fish, chicken tinga, ahi tuna and short rib. If you like chicken sandwiches, then you're in luck. Rookies is offering chicken sandwiches for a buck in February. Yes, $1, all day, every day. The offer is good for dine-in only, with the purchase of a beverage. Toppings are extra. Plus, drink specials include $3 PBR, $4 Corona and Corona Light and $6 Mai Tai and Rum Barrels.

Valentine's Day redux

Gene & Georgetti: The Rosemont restaurant offers its Valentine's dinner menu Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 14-16. The four-course dinner, which costs $85 per person, includes dishes such as tomato bisque or arugula salad to start and a second course of stuffed portobello or bacon-wrapped shrimp. Pan-seared sea scallops, swordfish casino, butternut squash ravioli and a 22-ounce dry-aged bone-in rib-eye round out the entrees. Finish with the Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake.
