Bel Air nabs top pick at Daily Herald Cruise Night finale

Barry Beaugureau of Elk Grove Village and his 1956 Chevy Bel Air were awarded the Matt Avery's Pick this week at the Daily Herald's Cruise Night Season Finale, hosted at Zeigler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Schaumburg.
Barry purchased his classic in 1989 after selling a 1957 Chevy.
“I had a high school buddy at Taft High (in Chicago) who drove a '57 in the same colors (Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige) and I just loved them,” Barry said.

While Barry has held onto his two-toned cruiser for multiple decades, his school pal wasn't so lucky.
“I was in the front seat when he wrecked it in the school parking lot,” Barry chuckles.
