Davey Tree moves into larger offices in Schaumburg, Long Grove

Ohio-based tree company heading to larger offices in Schaumburg, Long Grove

Kent, Ohio-based Davey Tree Expert Co., which has about a dozen offices in the Chicago region, plans further growth and will be moving two of those offices into larger spaces in the suburbs.

It will move its primary local office from Wheeling to 1375 E. Woodfield Drive in Schaumburg. Wheeling had been the former headquarters for The Care of Trees, which was acquired by Davey Tree in 2008.

Another office will move from Barrington to 2727 Route 53 in Long Grove, a 4-acre site that formerly housed Geimer Greenhouse Inc.

Both moves are expected to be completed around June.

"We're making those moves to better serve our clients," said Dave Tree spokeswoman Jennifer Lennox.

Davey Tree, which was founded in 1880 in Ohio, is now one of the largest tree care, grounds maintenance and environmental consulting services firms for the residential, utility and commercial markets throughout the United States and Canada. It has about 8,600 employees, including about 400 in the Chicago and suburban area.

"We're always looking to add more people, especially this time of year," Lennox said.

Elk Grove Village-based Brown Commercial Group helped Davey Tree select its two latest offices and also helped with two previous moves to Naperville and Wood Dale, said Mike Antonelli, vice president and sales.

He said some of the office moves involved leaving smaller and less efficient offices that were originally leased by The Care of Trees.
