Lower Fox River declared no-wake

The Fox Waterway Agency has issued a no-wake order for the lower Fox River from the Stratton Lock and Dam in McHenry south to Route 62 in Algonquin. Rain during the past week has pushed the Fox River to high water levels in those areas, officials said. Additional rain is forecast in the next week, with a half-inch of rain expected this week. Water flowing into the Chain is expected to peak into Thursday morning, and the lakes will continue to rise through the weekend, officials said. A debris advisory has also been put in place for the Chain and entire Fox River due to the high water. For information, visit the Fox Waterway Agency website at foxwaterway.com.
