Flood warning issued for Des Plaines River

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Des Plaines River in Lake and Cook counties, officials said.

The warning goes into effect Friday evening and ends Saturday morning.

The river is expected to rise near flood stage Friday night.

Minor flooding is expected, with some forest preserve roads being affected.

Drivers are cautioned not to drive through water-covered roads.
