Stop by Spring Book Sale at Algonquin library this week

The Friends of the Algonquin Area Public Library District will hold its Spring Book Sale Thursday, March 9 through Sunday, March 12, at the Eastgate Branch Library, 115 Eastgate Drive in Algonquin.

The sale will open from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, with an $10 entry fee, this day only. The sale will continue 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 10; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 11; and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 12, half-price day.

Light refreshments will be available for purchase Friday through Sunday at the Book Bistro.

From a wide selection of movie and television DVDs to a variety of music CDs, you'll find the perfect additions to your collections. All fiction books are in alphabetical order by author and all other categories are organized to make shopping easy. You might find the missing book or DVD in your favorite series. On Tuesday, March 14, the Friends' room will be open from 4 to 6 p.m. or its "Free Books for Teachers" event. Books not sold during the Spring Book Sale will be available for free to teachers to use in their classrooms. Teachers must bring their school IDs for admittance.

The Friends of the Algonquin Area Public Library was founded May 6, 1991. The Friends are a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the library district by providing materials, services, and educational opportunities that are not funded by the library budget.
