Take a magic carpet ride with Schaumburg Park District

Explore "a whole new world" of singing, dancing and colorful costumes during the Schaumburg Park District's production of Disney's Aladdin Jr.

Aladdin Jr. will be performed March 10-12 at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. The show features a cast of memorable characters, including Jasmine and Aladdin and the loveable, hilarious Genie.

"Aladdin is a great show," said Beth Waller, cultural arts supervisor. "It has fun music and the Genie character is really entertaining."

With such a diverse cast of characters, the show likely will appeal to fans of all ages. Audience members also will have a chance to take photos with the cast on a "magic" carpet.

"So many children know Jasmine and Aladdin, which makes this production very appealing," Waller said. "There are numerous parts, so it's been a wonderful opportunity for local actors."

Upcoming show times include:

• 7 p.m., Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11

• 2 p.m., Sunday, March 12

Tickets are available at the CRC and cost $12 for adults and $7 for youth 12 and under. Admission is free to children ages 2 and younger if being held.
