'Party On! 25 Years of Wayne's World' kicks off Feb. 3

First Fridays on Feb. 3 kicks off "Party On! 25 Years of Wayne's World," a six-month long celebration of the movie's anniversary.

First Fridays, a monthly celebration of art, music, and culture invites patrons to dress up as a character from the movie, or to wear a flannel to the evening festivities. More than a dozen venues are open with a variety of offerings.

Santori Public Library, 101 S. River St., will offer several "Wayne's World" activities from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., including Stan Makita's Donut Shop, and "Take a Shot at Wayne and Garth" (goalie shots in the atrium). With "Two Minutes of Excellent Fame," don a Wayne or Garth wig, hat, glasses, flannel, and video a line from the movie. Check out the Flannel Impromptu Art Gallery with "WW's Fashion Strut & Selfie."

The following venues are open with "Wayne's World" activities:

• If These Walls Could Talk, 32 S. Stolp Ave., is hosting a Wayne's World poster contest from 7 to 11 p.m.

• Leland Legends, 1 S. Stolp Ave., hosts Wayne's World karaoke from 8:30 p.m. to close;

• Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway, invites patrons to dress up like Wayne and Garth using their props and photo booth from 6 to 9 p.m.;

• View Wayne's basement in the former Waubonsee Community College building on Stolp Avenue and Galena Boulevard. Take selfies and share on social media with hashtag #partyonaurora from 6 to 9 p.m.

Participate in on-street trivia, win raffle prizes, and more.

Art and music will be featured at the following venues on Feb. 3:

• "Propensity for the Densities" at Repertoire Reservoir Studios, 14 W. Downer, upstairs, from 7 to 10 p.m.;

• "The Desire Show" at The ArtBar, Two Brothers Roundhouse, 205 N. Broadway, from 6 p.m. to midnight;

• "District 129 Advanced Art Show" and Lego Corner opening at SciTech, 18 W. Benton St., from 6 to 8 p.m.;

• Enjoy Josue Paiz DJ and art from 5 to 9 p.m. at River's Edge Cafe, 14 W. Downer Place, Suite 18.

The following venues are open with a variety of offerings on Feb. 3:

• Culture Stock, 43 E. Galena Blvd., will feature the "Human Library of the Fox Valley" from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and "Respect the Mic" spoken word from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

• Valentine and Popcorn Party from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at AKA Dance, 14 W. Downer Place;

• Mini classes and belly dance from 6 to 9 p.m. at Zen Loft Wellness Center, 6 W. Downer Place, upstairs;

• Pop Up Shop featuring over a handful of local artisans and vendors from 6 to 9 p.m. at Aurora Regional Fire Museum, 53 N. Broadway;

• Check out the "Camp Hammond" exhibit on the first floor or the "Aurora Story" display on the second floor from 6 to 9 p.m. at the David L. Pierce Art & History Center, 20 E. Downer Place.

Pick up a free First Fridays passport at any of the venues. Punch your passport and turn in at your last venue for a chance to win a "Party On!" goody bag.

All events are free and art is for sale. Free trolley rides serving parking lots and circling downtown run from 6 to 10 p.m.
