Discover your flair for local fare at Farm to Table Cooking Series

Learn fun, easy recipes at Schaumburg Park District's Farm to Table Cooking Series.

The first class in the series-Pretzels O' Plenty-is set for 10 a.m. to noon, Jan. 28 , at Spring Valley's Volkening Heritage Farm, 201 S. Plum Grove Road.

Participants will learn how to make homemade pretzels and take home a block of locally-made cheese.

"This series offers fun, simple ways to cook with local foods," said Patty Kennedy, farm program coordinator. "Participants will get to take some items home to try."

Additional classes in the series include:

• The Sweet Life: Sugar Basics, 10 a.m.-noon, Feb. 25

• Farm Fresh Eggs, 10 a.m.-noon, March 25

Preregistration is required for all classes. The cost for each class is $12 for residents and $18 for non-residents.

Participants may register for individual programs or the entire series.
