Glendale Heights-based Universal Beauty to expand operations

Glendale Heights-based Universal Beauty Products Inc., which provides lip care, body oils and other beauty-related products worldwide, has acquired a facility in Bloomingdale to help expand its operations.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Chicago-based Cushman & Wakefield, which represented Universal Beauty in the acquisition, said the industrial facility is 94,682 square feet and is located at 221 Covington Drive in Bloomingdale. It was recently renovated and will accommodate the company's continued growth, said Cushman spokeswoman Gianna Gianfortune.

"Universal Beauty is planning on using the facility for warehouse, manufacturing and overflow space for their headquarters, which is just around the corner," Gianfortune said. "They will be manufacturing beauty products out of the facility, such as various hair, body and lip care products."

A Universal Beauty spokeswoman did not immediately respond for comment.

For more than a decade, the company has provided a variety of personal care products to markets around the world. Its current 200,000-square-foot facility houses research-and-development laboratories, sales and marketing staff, manufacturing, customer services, administration and warehouse operations, the company website said.
