Dan Hampton to highlight Pads breakfast

Football Hall of Famer Dan Hampton will be the keynote speaker at DuPage PADS 14th annual Wake Up Your Spirit Breakfast to help the homeless.

This year's breakfast will be from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the Krasa Center at Benedictine University, 5700 College Road, Lisle.

Carol Simler, president and CEO of DuPage PADS, will highlight new programs, current developments and the agency's vision for the future. A DuPage PADS participant will share his/her journey with the audience.

The keynote speaker, Hampton, also known as "Danimal," is a retired Hall of Fame football defensive tackle who played 12 seasons for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League and led the defense to a 1986 Super Bowl Championship.

Enduring 10 knee surgeries and numerous other injuries, Hampton become recognized as one of the game's most dedicated players.

"We are thrilled to have Dan Hampton as our keynote speaker. With his relentless determination, he can surely relate to our tagline: when someone believes in you, everything can change," Simler said.

Proceeds from the Wake Up Your Spirit Breakfast will provide support services to families and individuals who are homeless as they work toward a place to call home.
