Woman charged in attack of Bartlett native on Metra train

A woman headed to her parents' home in Bartlett says another passenger on a Metra train suddenly grabbed her hair and slammed her head against the window.

Danielle, a model, who did not give her last name, is now thankful for the bystanders who came to her aid last week.

“Thank God, people just stepped in all of a sudden,” said Danielle, who alternates between Chicago and Los Angeles for her work.

Denisse Ceballos-Nolasco, 36, has been charged in the attack when the train was near the Roselle Metra station last Tuesday afternoon, according to ABC 7.

DuPage County jail records show that Ceballos-Nolasco has been charged with aggravated battery, battery of an insulting or provoking nature, battery causing bodily harm, and resisting or obstructing a police officer.

Danielle said she was talking with her mom on the phone when she saw the woman walking down the train's aisle “with purpose.” Sitting behind Danielle, the woman began banging Danielle's head against the window, she said.

A group of about eight or 10 passengers on the train tried to stop the scuffle and pull the woman away, Danielle said.

She said she was treated for a concussion at an area hospital and has been resting at home. A conductor also was bitten on the arm, a Metra spokeswoman said.

“Overall, it could have been a lot worse,” Danielle said.
