Two DuPage County banks robbed hours apart Tuesday

The FBI is searching for two suspects involved in separate bank robberies within hours of each other Tuesday in DuPage County.

In the first robbery, authorities say a man wearing a surgical mask walked into the Bank of America, 506 S. Schmale Road, at 11:23 a.m. and demanded cash.

The suspect is believed to be the same person who robbed the TCF Bank inside a Jewel-Osco in Glendale Heights just before 5 p.m. July 29, the FBI said.

He is described as a white male, in his 30s to 40s, 5'7” to 5'9”, with a medium build and brown hair. He wore a red button down shirt and black baseball cap Tuesday. In the previous robbery, surveillance images show him wearing a surgical mask with a black cowboy hat and black suit.

The other bank robbery Tuesday occurred at 1:46 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank, 625 Army Trail Road in Addison, according to the FBI.

The suspect is also believed to be a repeat offender, having been involved in the robbery of the Citibank, 1210 S. Main St. in Lombard just after 10:30 a.m. Aug. 19, authorities said.

He is described as a black male, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5'4” to 5'6”, with a medium build. He wore a red and black baseball hat, dark long-sleeve shirt and jeans Tuesday.

Those with information are asked to contact the FBI at (312) 421-6700.
