Baseball: Naperville Central, WW South, West Chicago win

Naperville Central 2, Lake Park 1:

Liam Heath's 4-hitter and Conor Joyce's solo homer in the bottom of the fifth kept the Redhawks (21-10, 15-8) alive for a share of the DuPage Valley Conference title. To share the title with Waubonsie Valley, Naperville Central needs the Warriors to lose to Wheaton North on Wednesday and then the Redhawks must beat Lake Park on Thursday. Colin Fowich went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Lake Park (19-10, 14-9).

WW South 1, Naperville North 0:

Ryan King pitched a 4-hitter with 4 strikeouts and no walks as the Tigers (6-21, 4-19) won in the DuPage Valley. Paul Monaco drove in the game's only run when his fielder's choice scored Jeran Simpson in the top of the seventh. Losing pitcher Matt Schwartz allowed only 5 hits and struck out seven for Naperville North (14-14).

West Chicago 5, West Aurora 1:

Kyle Olson was the complete-game winning pitcher for the Wildcats (7-19, 5-14 Upstate Eight Valley), allowing 4 hits and no earned runs while striking out two. Brian Sullivan went 2-for-4.

Addison Trail 4, Morton 1:

The Blazers (13-13, 8-9) won their second straight against Morton behind complete-game winner Nick Fugarino, who struck out five and scattered 6 hits. Alex Neri and Jack Kalbas each drove in a run.

Neuqua Valley 4, Glenbard North 1:

The Wildcats (18-12, 13-10) trailed 1-0 but took the lead for good with 2 runs in the top of the fourth. Max Vercautren went 4-for-4 with 2 RBI while Will Drake went 3-for-3. Jake Dupre pitched 5 innings to earn the win.

Willowbrook 6, Glenbard West 2:

Kyle Ferguson and Kyle Martyniuk drove in 2 runs apiece for the Warriors (15-15) in the West Suburban crossover. Winning pitcher Alec Michaelson went 6 innings. Arno Curtis went 2-for-3 for Glenbard West (12-19).

York 6, Glenbard South 2:

A 4-run top of the fifth inning broke a 2-2 tie for the Dukes (17-14) in nonconference play. Nick Lee drove in 2 runs and Cam Fowler scored twice. Austin Gelsomino was the winning pitcher in relief. Kyle Zygadto went 3-for-4 for Glenbard South (14-15).
