New Rolling Meadows police chief from Elk Grove

Rolling Meadows City Manager Barry Krumstock on Thursday announced that Elk Grove Village Deputy Police Chief John A. Nowacki will become Rolling Meadows' new police chief on Monday, April 11.

Nowacki will be ceremonially sworn in at the city council meeting on Tuesday, April 12.

He succeeds former Rolling Meadows Police Chief Dave Scanlan, who retired on March 11.

Nowacki joined the Elk Grove Village Police Department in 1987 and has been a deputy chief since 2011.

He holds a Master of Arts degree from Western Illinois University, a bachelor's degree from Roosevelt University and an associate degree from Harper College.

Nowacki, an alumnus of Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, is also a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy.
